Exploring new metrics of success for museums

Some museum professionals are interested in counting the number of visitation thorough museum doors and/or viewing of the web pages. Others prefer not to talk about quantity because not many museums have impressive records in quantity. Considering poor economic circumstances, the museum communities in the world are increasingly pressured to explain the reason of existence. Museums and the web acknowledged the importance of the web pages by setting up the best of the Web award. Are there any good ways to acknowledge hard work of museums and colleagues curating great exhibitions, maintaining the collections, building the collections and so on. Through these activities, we may be able to establish a new and international metrics of success for museums.
