Since digitization, (online) globalisation and new media have offered many opportunities and changed the way we connect, interact, participate and co-create there is a growing need for ways to rethink both the museum as a cultural and social institution and the accompanying revenue models in order to build sustainable museums that will not only safeguard our heritage, but will be able to make this heritage relevant on the long term. Therefor we need to know how to create a strategy for social engagement and how to innovate the business model of our museums.
