This workshop aims to present TAPIR Guide – a new mobile guide system that provides enhanced user experience in galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAMs) based on data communication and location detection using audio signals in “theoretically audible, but practically inaudible range (TAPIR)” of human hearing (typically higher than 18 kHz) that are virtually inaudible to human ears but can be detected by almost every smartphone’s microphone.
